Facial Fillers and Neurotoxins
Botulinum Toxin, Hyaluronic Acid & Facial Fillers
As we age our skin becomes susceptible to sagging and wrinkles. Some of the causes include exposure to sun or impact of the years of facial muscles movement, such as squinting, smiling, chewing, etc. The good news is, there are the innovative cosmetic procedures, that can ease tissue breakdown of the skin and the process of aging, helping sustain one’s youth.
Botulinum Toxins
Botulinum Toxins is a non-surgical, prescription medication that is safe and FDA approved. It is a naturally occurring substance that is considered the most popular cosmetic medical treatment in the world.
Injecting Botulinum toxin into the muscles directly improves: frown lines (moderate to severe), crow’s feet, horizontal lines in the forehead, as well as height and shape of the eyebrows. Botulinum toxin can also be used to treat:
- down-turn at the lips
- vertical lip lines
- twitching or spasm of the eyelids and cheeks
Hyaluronic Acid
As a filler to reduce facial wrinkles and lines, hyaluronic acid is the safest, better tolerated and most rewarding procedure for the appropriately selected patients.
It is a good choice as a dermal filler and is most useful in the filling of deficient areas, because of its compatibility with the human body. It can also be applied to genitalia with great results.
RADIESSE®
Aging is a part of life, and as time passes, the skin becomes less vibrant. What makes youthful skin, is its abundance of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. RADIESSE® adds volume, strength and flexibility to skin that diminishes the signs of aging.
RADIESSE® calcium-based microspheres and gel makes it ideal in the area of muscle radial fold and for the mid-face volume augmentations as well as the nose with a significant implant. Give your skin a youthful, fresh appearance with RADIESSE®.
Autologous Fat Transfer
A Fat Transfer is most commonly known as autologous fat transfer, this is the act of using one’s own tissue for the transfer procedure. Basically it is extracting patient’s own fatty tissue – which can be subtracted or added to different parts of patient’s body. This technique is a revolutionary way of rejuvenating one’s face by adding volume while avoiding any use of incisions and reducing any allergic reactions. This is primarily achieved because of body’s ability to create new tissues from the contained stem cells.
Chemical Peel, Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) and Alpha Hydroxy-Acids (AHAs)
We offer a number of chemical peels that can help you achieve luminous skin renewal. Chemical peels improve and smooth the texture of your facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. Peels in general are the technique of choice when one’s goal is to improve the appearance of your skin or to help reduce your fine lines and wrinkles.
In this treatment, we apply a chemical solution which causes a reaction of your skin to blister and eventually peel off. This new, regenerated skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.
Resurfacing
Skin Resurfacing & Peeling Methods
Skin Resurfacing is the precise and controlled removal of damaged skin layers (layer by layer) leaving room for new skin cells to grow in its place. These new skin cells give your skin a younger and firmer surface.
Skin resurfacing & peeling methods may be the perfect solution to help your skin look healthier and young again if you have:
- Pigmentary changes of the skin
- Brown spots or blotchy skin coloring (associated with age or as a result of pregnancy, chicken pox ,birth control pills, or various genetic factors)
- Acne scars
- Premature aging
- Over exposure to the sun, that has caused scaring of your skin surface
- Wrinkles (contributed by lifestyle factors including nutrition, alcohol consumption and smoking) lines or blotches
- Superficial facial scars caused by a past injury
- Certain precancerous skin growths
As your skin heals, the goal is to form “good” scar tissue to replace the “bad” scar tissue.
The characteristics of your damaged or blemished skin and time allowance for the recovery, determine what specific method is best for particular candidate. Each case is carefully reviewed by our medical professionals at the State of the Art Plastic Surgery, before offering an individual recommendation to the patient.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Post-operatory massages that directly stimulate the lymphatic system.
State of the Art Plastic Surgery center provides post-operatory massages that directly stimulate the lymphatic system. This rhythmical circular massage encourages the lymphatic system to eliminate bacteria, excess fluids and metabolic waste.
Other benefits of stimulating the lymphatics include:
- Increases the body's "coping mechanisms" in dealing with stress, depression and sleeping disorders.
- Reduces chronic pain.
- Detoxifies the body.
- Reduces fluid retention brought on by menstruation or pregnancy.
- Helps facilitate healing.
- Builds your body's immune system and increases the production of antibodies.
- It can also reduce inflammation in the body that causes arthritis.
Lymphatic drainage massage goes deeper than Swedish and traditional Deep Tissue methods of message.
In regards to after surgery recovery and the use of Lymphatic drainage massages, in general it is best to wait an average of 4 weeks or until Dr. Karim Benítez-Marchand recommends a Lymph drainage massage. Having your lymph drainage massage, will aid in the regeneration of your tissues and it will reduce scarring and any other surgery related bruising or swelling. Clearing the blockages in your lymph system, will firm and tone your skin and add to the improvement of your health.
